Save the Turkey! Or Not? This interactive digital resource with Google Slides™, is a fun and engaging way to practice Persuasive Writing and will become your NEW favorite tradition each November! This lesson is a great way to review the components of persuasive writing. It is also a great mini-project to display in your classroom or in the hallway during the month of November.
How It Works
Every year, I turn my students into "turkeys". They must persuade me, the farmer, to either eat them for Thanksgiving dinner or let them continue to live on the farm. The students come up with awesome reasons for both sides.
This Fun & Festive Resource Includes:
- Cover letter explaining the task (to be distributed to the students or read aloud)
- 2-page Persuasive Writing Planning Template
- Final Letter Drafting Paper
*All of these components are included in a Google Drive Folder and text boxes are already inserted for easy typing!
Teacher Tip: Have students share their letters to the class in a "debate" style shareout. You can do this with the digital version or the Print and Go PDF that is also included.
