This lesson is a great way to review the components of persuasive writing. It is also a great mini-project to display in your classroom or in the hallway during the month of November. You may also choose to have your students share their letters to the class in a "debate" style shareout. Every year, this activity is a hit with my students!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sarah H. says, "Fun writing piece for the weeks leading up to thanksgiving. Tried to persuade the students myself to choose the "Save Me" side so that they can really work on their persuasive writing."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Valerie T. says, "I’ve done a lot of Thanksgiving writing assignments over the years, but this one is one of my favorites. The students loved this engaging assignment. They even loved sharing their stories with each other!"
