Let's design a park! This April STEM activity is a great way to combine project based learning in 2nd grade with Earth Day Writing. Students receive a letter from Mayor Seedling of Greenville to put together a proposal for a new park in their city. Students must work together to create a design, highlight top features of their park and write a letter back to the mayor convincing him to choose their design.

Everything you need is included!

- A letter from Mayor Seedling stating the request for Park Design Proposals

- Brainstorm Page for groups to organize their ideas for what features they may want to include in their park.

- 2 differentiated park design plan templates, including a key for students to record any symbols they use in their design

- “Park Perks” in which students identify their top 3 design features and how they are best fitting Mayor Seedling’s request

- Formal Letter template for students to write to Mayor Seedling persuading him to accept their proposal for the park.

- Teacher Tips

The Best Part? Everything you need is included. Just print and go!
